Established in 1979, Judie’s Florist has been at the heart of the Tonyrefail community for over four decades. What began as a small home-based business has grown into a well-established, family-run florist built on passion, dedication and a genuine love of flowers Our story began with Judie, who followed her passion for floristry by studying at the Riviera School of Floristry. She initially started her business from home before taking the next step and opening her own market stall at Bridgend Indoor Market. As the business continued to grow, Judie purchased an old butcher’s shop in Tonyrefail and transformed it into what became the first florist in the village. From those humble beginnings, Judie’s Florist has continued to grow and flourish, becoming one of Tonyrefail’s longest-established independent businesses. A Family TraditionFloristry has always been at the heart of our family. After completing three years of study at Pencoed Horticulture and Agriculture College, Judie’s daughter, Kathryn, joined the business. Together, Judie and Kathryn formed the mother-and-daughter team that has become such an important part of Judie’s Florist. Their shared knowledge, creativity and passion have helped shape the business into what it is today. Over the years, we have continued to evolve with the changing world of floristry, while always remaining true to the values on which the business was founded: quality, creativity, personal service and a passion for making people happy through flowers. Three Generations of FloristsIn 2026, Judie’s Florist proudly welcomed the third generation of the family, with India joining the team. India is currently studying Floristry at Bristol College, following in the footsteps of her grandmother and mother. Her arrival marks an exciting new chapter for the business and allows our family’s love and knowledge of floristry to continue into another generation. From Judie’s original home-based business to a thriving family florist, we are incredibly proud of our journey and of the generations of florists who have helped make Judie’s Florist what it is today.
